Wendy Shorter Interiors is an awards winning upholstery and soft furnishings training centre recognised by Ofsted.
Based near St. Albans in Hertfordshire, we offer a range of day and evening upholstery and soft furnishings training courses and classes. We are members of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) approved to deliver their professional qualifications.
All our tutors are professional upholsterers and soft furnishers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our aim is to nurture, foster and inspire new talent by supporting students throughout their studies in order that they attain the skills and levels of excellence required to forge a successful career in the furnishings industry or to support them in a creative hobby.

Many of our past students have gone on to develop successful careers in the industry either working for themselves or for others. Some can even be seen on Television: E. J. Osborne presenter of the BBC's "Money for Nothing"; Ray Clarke; Harriet Page & Charlotte Harrison from the Bristol Upholstery Collective, also participate in the "Money for Nothing" programme. Fiona Baker of Harrison Moss Interiors did all the furnishings for the BBC's DIYSOS Welwyn Garden City programme. Louise Boyland now runs her own training centre "Shoreditch Design Rooms". Maria Willis also runs her own training centre "Maria's Traditional Upholstery and Susie Wigg has a very successful bespoke curtain making company. Read more
